FPLL Families,
This fall FPLL is proud to offer multiple baseball and softball opportunities for members of our league:
- Fall baseball clinic for 4-6 year olds.
- Fall baseball team competition for 7-12 year olds.
- Fall softball clinic for 4-7 year olds.
All ages are as determined by the Little League International age chart.
Registration for all programs is now open and will run until August 14. A $30 late fee will be assessed from August 15 through August 19. There will be no registrations accepted after August 19. You can register by logging in to our website and clicking on the Registration Info tab.
Baseball and Softball Clinics
A clinic run by professional instructors will be held for six Saturdays (September 9, 16, 23, 30, October 14, 21) at the Floral Park Recreation Center. Sessions will be held in the morning and scheduled to avoid morning soccer for this age group. The cost for these programs is $85.
7-12 Year Old Baseball
We will be forming baseball teams in three age groups: 7-8 year olds, 9-10 year olds, 11-12 year olds. If a sufficient number of players register to create four teams in a division, we will play an in-house league at the Floral Park Rec Center. If the registration number is not sufficient for in-house play, teams will be entered to play the intramural season in the Merillon Classic League sponsored by the New Hyde Park North Little League. The teams in that league come from surrounding towns.
Team practices will begin in late August and games will begin September 9, with one game a week through November 5. (Games are normally played on weekends.) Fall baseball teams will be traveling to the surrounding towns for away games and playing home games at the FP Recreation Center. The cost for this program is $100.
Volunteers Needed
We are in need of volunteers to manage and coach the Fall teams for baseball and softball. Please check the appropriate boxes when registering if interested in volunteering. As in the spring Little League season, all volunteers, per Williamsport Little League directives, will have to consent to a background check.
